Free or fee?

Choosing the right business model is important to assure the success of the project.

The question is who will pay the development, the debugging, the documentation, the website and the ads?

The traditional model is to pass the production costs on the final product. In this case the software is not free and can be very expensive if the sales volume is low. The side effect is when the sale price too high, it tends to slow down the sales and keeps the product non-affordable.

The "free" model is to freely distribute the product. In this case, we search to decrease the distribution costs. The software and documentation are only available by download. The service and support are charged sometimes at a very high price.
